11/17 - 11/24 / Reol - DDD

Would've been really funny to have another title track this week too but alas!

Instead, I bring a singer that I've loved for many years now: Reol ! You might have heard her already as she sang Drop Pop Candy and Luvatorrrrry, two really good songs.
(Peepaw voice) Back in my days... I used to listen to a ton of utaites. And I used to listen to them a lot. And Reol was one of them! I was obsessed with Sigma back in 2017 I am so not kidding, you have no idea how much I listened to it on Youtube. Sadly, I stopped listening to any utaite-related music a year later and Reol fell victim to the abyss (pensive emoji).
I don't even remember how and why I found myself listening to her music again while at college this week but it happened, and unfurled in front of me songs that weren't just *good* but AWESOME. So anyway I can't stop listening to DDD and I'm obsessed with the music video, thank you.
Reol recently came out with a new EP that's available on most streaming platforms and that I really should listen to. Please watch the DDD music video, you guys are missing out.

11/10 - 11/17 / Leslie Hunt - Your Hair Is On Fire

Second song of the week! Rejoice! Funnily enough, this is also a title track like IWaDASN was. I did not do this on purpose but it's pretty funny to notice.

I've known Leslie Hunt for a really long time, I first heard 'Lonely Home' from that same album as a minecraft youtuber's outro way back in 2012-2013 and I've digged her stuff since then. HOWEVER, for whatever reason, it took me ages to listen to the entire album front to back... so it wasn't until last Wednesday that I'd heard more than two songs of hers. I KNOW. I KNOW.

Anyways. I can't stop listening to this song. No, like, I cannot stop listening to this song. The vocals are wonderful, the bassline is awesome, the mood of the song is perfect, the synth that's the cherry on top, it's all just. I'm going insane. HOW did I NOT listen to this earlier. Would've probably blown my mind back then too.
Leslie Hunt made two albums back in 2021, Ascend and Descend, that are available on most platforms, and still makes music with her band District 97, that you can find on the same platforms and (also) Bandcamp!

10/31 - 11/10 / Creature Feature - It Was a Dark And Stormy Night

Finally, a new SOTW! Hopefully these songs will stay weekly and not become... 'Song of the Month' like it did last time.

Anyway, this new era of SOTW starts with THE Halloween band that ever was, namely Creature Feature!
With a song off of their second album, It Was a Dark And Stormy Night... the title track.

Their discography just SCREAMS 'Halloween' to me, there was NO WAY I could pick any other band. Picking the song was the hardest part, though. Since it's all very... halloween-esque, I did Not know which song I could pick, and now that I'm thinking about it, I have at least 3 other songs in mind I wish I'd picked instead of this one, OH WELL. (Fun fact: I had to double-check this entry because I kept getting the song wrong.)

Coughs.

If you're interested in checking their music out, you can find Creature Feature on Spotify, Bandcamp, and Youtube. Their most recent release is the special Halloween cover they do (almost) every year, this one's the Ghostbusters' theme song. C'mon, go add them to your Halloween playlists!
