9/17 to 9/24 : 5 ALIVE by SELF

Fourth song of the week and back with a band I discovered in 2019 thanks to Tally Hall! Another song from the same album was featured in a THIS episode & I immediately digged their sound. "5 Alive" is a song by sElf featured on their 5th album 'Gizmodgery', which was recorded using only toy instruments (which is really cool!). As far as I know, no songs on Gizmodgery ever got their own music video.

Fun fact: this is the same band that made the ending song for Shrek! Yes, you read that right. sElf made the ending song for Shrek.

sElf truly is one of my favorite bands and one of their albums is literally N.1 on my favorite albums of all times list. Go check them out! Listen to the Brunch B-Sides! Find unreleased tracks! You won't regret it! I personally have yet to listen to Selfafornia & Self goes shopping but am very much looking forward to it! You can easily find their stuff online or on the old 'Selfies' website on the wayback machine.

9/10 to 9/17 : KISS ME, SON OF GOD by THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS

I LOVE THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS! No, really, I love this band a whole lot. I discovered TMBG when I was a little kid actually, Istanbul was my favorite dance on Just Dance 4 (I danced as the rat all the time!), but it took me a few years to rediscover the band (at least 6 or 7), thanks to The Umbrella Academy. But this isn't about Istanbul (Not Constantinople)! This week's song is from They Might Be Giants' second album : "Lincoln" (1988), in which "Kiss me, Son of God" is the closing track.

I think it's one of my favorite songs on this album, but to be fair, I think most TMBG songs are my favorites. Go listen to it! And the rest of their discography! Discover how many songs you heard already!

9/3 to 9/10 : GO (DEMO) by TALLY HALL

For the second song of the week (that I, kind of, forgot to add last Sunday), I picked a nice Tally Hall song from their album 'Admittedly Incomplete Demos'. It's a little sad, but I think it's one of my favorite demos on the album. I really love the more acoustic sound and the overall vibe of the song, I find it very comforting, personally, plus it goes perfectly with Rob's vocals, I love this man's voice.

When I got into Tally Hall back in 2019, I didn't really listen to this album all that much and only took the time to do a few weeks back, I genuinely think I missed out on something! It's always the songs you don't listen to that end up being the best ones. Everyone 'Go' check out the rest of their stuff if you haven't already, especially the songs or albums you've been meaning to listen to but keep avoiding!

8/25 to 9/3 : PUSH BUTTON by STOLEN BABIES

First ever song of the week! Yay! To mark the occasion, i decided that this first song should be Push Button by Stolen Babies :D

"Push Button" is the 11th track in Stolen Babies' first studio album, "There Be Squabbles Ahead", that came out in 2006! You can also listen to the demo in the 2004 Demo, available on Youtube. The song has a killer music video check this out:

I've been listening to StoBa since July 2018 and their first song i ever listened to was PB! I remember immediately digging their stuff and proceeding to listen to most, if not all, of their discography over that summer lol it's also the song that motivated me to learn how to scream!

Stolen Babies is a really awesome band and I can't wait to hear their newer stuff once it comes out (year 5 since TSB was announced... i'm getting old but i'm being patient), once I finally make more pages, i'll def make them a shrine so i can spread the love. go check them out!!!
